Local food in every pot: Growing farmers in northeastern Iowa through public and private partnerships

Location: Benton, Black Hawk, Bremer, Buchanan, Butler, Fayette, Grundy, Tama counties

This project, coordinated by the Northern Iowa Food and Farm Partnership, will help facilitate more growers entering the local food marketplace by providing access to county-owned land, production and marketing technical assistance, and business skills development. Target groups for the program are women, minorities, and new and transitioning farmers.

Andrea Geary

Andrea Geary Andrea Geary is the program coordinator for Northern Iowa Food & Farm Partnership (NIFFP). She is responsible for promoting local food on a regional basis, fostering relationships between consumers, producers and community entities, as well as working to expand the counties served. Geary has a bachelor's degree in liberal studies from the University of Iowa and previously owned and operated a bakery in Monticello, Illinois.
