Annual Report 2010-2011 : Perseverance

Samuel Adams, sometimes referred to as the “father of the American Revolution,” offered these ageless words of wisdom during a year that posed many challenges for the Leopold Center:

“The necessity of the times, more than ever, calls for our utmost circumspection, deliberation, fortitude and perseverance.”

This annual report showcases the Leopold Center’s accomplishments, some quite out of the ordinary and all attributed to perseverance. An illustrated timeline commemorates important events in the Center’s 25-year history.

The Leopold Center was established by the 1987 Iowa Groundwater Protection Act as a research and education center at Iowa State University to develop sustainable agricultural practices that are both profitable and conserve natural resources.
