In fall 2010, Soper Farms began the process of adding an organic enterprise, called New Shoots, to their farm. Check out 160 acres used for grass-fed beef and pastured chickens, visit the new facilities for cattle maintenance and poultry processing, and explore the New Shoots organic vegetable operation under construction.

Rich Shuler, PFI energy consultant, will present information about the farm's use of energy. Harn Soper received a demonstration grant from the Iowa Farm Energy Working Group to design, build and monitor a second-generation prototype 500-gallon biogas generator for the farm. More about the project
