Iowa Regional Food System Working Group Quarterly Meeting
This regularly scheduled meeting convenes the participating regions in Iowa working on local food system development. As a feature to the meeting, leaders of several food business initiatives across Iowa will share the latest activities of their projects: an organic grain mill in Fairfield, a congregate meal kitchens project, and online food co-ops in Des Moines and Cedar Rapids.
Additional updates will be given on the recent activities of participating RFSWG regions, the RFSWG plan for collecting common indicators of impact on Iowa’s food system, and the current actions for supportive local foods legislation. Kamyar Enshayan, from the UNI Center for Energy and Environmental Education, will give a closing presentation on the current outlook of local foods in Iowa.
There will be additional tables to display your organizations information. Please bring any handouts you wish to share with attendees. If you would like to request a single table please make a request to Jessica at rfswgiowa@gmail.com. Lunch will be provided.
Please register by Tuesday, June 19 at this website (NOTE: This website also has driving directions to the meeting site, a detailed agenda and a list of those already registered to attend the meeting.)
