Farmscape Reading and Book Launch

Celebrate the book launch of Mary Swander's Farmscape, a play that she wrote with Iowa State students. The play has toured for four years and is now published by Ice Cube Press along with essays by Fred Kirschenmann, Laura Sweeny, Anna Lappe, Gene Logsdon, Francis Thicke, Leigh Adcock and other leaders in the food movement and experts on the changing rural environment.

Swander received a special grant from the Leopold Center to bring the production to rural Iowa communities in 2008 and 2009, and form AgArts, a group that explores the intersection of the arts and agriculture.
