Iowa Public Health Association (IPHA) is pleased to partner with the Iowa Food Systems Council, the Healthy Farms Healthy People Coalition, Practical Farmers of Iowa, Iowa Primary Care Association, Iowa League of RC&Ds and Iowa Valley Continuing Education to co-host the 2012 Healthy Farms, Healthy People State Meeting.
This state meeting will showcase how the health of Iowa depends on expanded and productive relationships between agriculture, food, health care and primary care. The critical intersection of these sectors will be highlighted by feature presentations, a speed round of presentations, and a networking session allowing participants and speakers to connect and strengthen relationships.
This first-year event includes a keynote panel with Iowa Primary Care Association's Dr. Bery Engebretsen, Drake University's Matt Russell, Iowa Department of Public Health's Brenda Dobson, and American Veterinary Medical History Society's Dr. Russell Currier. Guest presenters will be Bill Menner from the USDA and Dr. Mariannette Miller-Meeks from the Iowa Department of Public Health.
More than a dozen organizations from around the state will discuss their work over the past year, followed by a networking session allowing participants and speakers to connect and build projects going forward.
