Practical Farmers of Iowa's 2014 conference, "Well Grounded," continues last year's focus on soil health sustainability. Attendees can learn about cover crops, extended rotations, permaculture and grazing systems, as well as how farming practices fit in line with the Iowa Nutrient Reduction Strategy.

The keynote address will be by Ricardio Salvador from the Union of Concerned Scientists, on the subject of "True Wealth: How Iowa Can Once Again Revolutionize Agriculture."

Attendees may choose from 26 workshops on subjects ranging from cover crops to high tunnel techniques to fermentation benefits. Read the news release to find a detailed list of scheduled workshops, events and other resources, including pre-conference courses.
