DIRECTOR CANDIDATES VISIT AMES
Three finalists in the search for a permanent director at the Leopold Center are visiting the Iowa State campus in Ames. In addition to interviews, each candidate is presenting a public seminar about his vision for the future of the center and how his experiences contribute to the vision.
Other seminars will be as follows:
ISU President Gregory Geoffroy is expected to appoint a director before he retires January 16.

A new On the Ground video from the Leopold Center explains the unique concept called mob grazing, which is believed to improve pasture quality. The concept is explored by Iowa State animal scientist Jim Russell and his graduate student Margaret Dunn.

ON FIRE FOR GREEN FIRE
Retired ISU professor Erv Klaas is one of the Aldo Leopold Foundation’s Land Ethic Leaders. Klaas also was honored in the organization’s latest newsletter for his work to bring the new film about Aldo Leopold’s life, called Green Fire, to Iowa audiences. He’s screened the film 12 times, even projecting it on the side of a barn! Klaas also organizes the annual Ames Reads Leopold event with the Leopold Center.
