Putting Prairie Strips into Practice

Taylor County landowner and farm manager Seth Watkins invited members of the STRIPs Research Team to visit his farm on June 11 and talk about planting prairie strips, a conservation practice pioneered with startup funding from the Leopold Center.

The Leopold Center was established by the 1987 Iowa Groundwater Protection Act as a research and education center at Iowa State University to develop sustainable agricultural practices that are both profitable and conserve natural resources.
