Pilot project to identify and measure the relevant costs of production for sustainable agricultural products
We will discuss the process of locating producers with whom to carry out our project, the various cost/accounting issues the producers face, ways that we were able to help the producers, obstacles that research faculty may face as they engage in efforts to work with producers, and ways that such obstacles may be better met in the future. A second purpose of our grant was to work with two other Leopold Center-funded researchers, Jason Ellis and Amit Sharma. We will discuss the extent to which our projects have overlapped to date and whether there are ways that we could improve synergy among researchers. We will also discuss the work that remains to be done with Dr. Sharma. Sue Ravenscroft Mike Doran
