Tagtow portraitAngie Tagtow, a registered and licensed dietitian with more than 25 years of experience in public health and food policy, will deliver the Shivvers Memorial Lecture at 7 p.m. March 25, in the Campanile Room of the Iowa State Memorial Union. She will discuss the balance between nutrition and sustainability. She was Executive Director of the USDA Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion during the Obama administration and co-led the development and launch of the 2015–2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans with the Department of Health and Human Services. This lecture has been presented at ISU since 1969 in memory of John Shivvers, who farmed near Knoxville. The lectures focus on ways in which agriculture can sustain rather than destroy natural resources.
